This clock is in many ways one of the most original reproductions of a Black Forest farm house in our clock selection. One typical feature of a Black Forest farm house is the balcony on the first floor in the building front. Black Forest farm houses often have a huge roof surface. There was need for as much storage space as possible, to have enough room for straw and fodder to get the lifestock through the long winters. So the space directly under the gable had to be used as well. The balcony was constructed to make to room above it usable, it has a supporting function. As is visible with this clock, the front of the building was brought forward and additional room was created.

In the case of a cuckoo clock, this makes it necessary to construct a very special cuckoo. Because of the different clock / house construction, the cuckoo has to bridge the gap between clock front and balcony front. This cuckoo clock model and its construction is unique among cuckoo clocks. For one thing, the closeness to real Black Forest farm houses, and also the unique construction necessary for the cuckoo and cuckoo door.

Further specific traits are the annexes to both sides of the house, which can be found in many real farm houses as well.
On the balcony, the dancing figurines start to turn. This clock has a very elaborate decoration, with wood chevron and wood horse; altogether, a very convincing forest scene is displayed on the clock. All figurines and decorative elements are made of wood and are hand-painted.
